Who we are?
Fundación Médica San Lucas is a non-profit organization founded in 1966 by Dr. Roberto Rodríguez and his wife Norma Ruesga.
For years we have provided top-level medical care and assistance, at affordable prices, to various populations in Valladolid, Yucatán, where we have detected a great need.San Lucas Medical Center (CMSL) will continue to strive to be the best option for those in need.
We currently have a team of specialist doctors dedicated to addressing the needs of the community, which has led it to be themost important health center of its kind in the region.

Our objective is
To become a point of reference in terms of philanthropy in the South of Mexico, and to establish San Lucas Medical Center as the best surgical option in the Yucatan Peninsula in terms of quality and price. Seek national and international partnerships in order to achieve a holistic approach to the welfare of the most vulnerable population.

History
Discover through our timeline the history of the San Lucas Medical Foundation
1966
We started with primary care medical campaigns where consultations and medicines were given free of charge.
1970
At the invitation of the government of the state of Tamaulipas we mobilize national and international multidisciplinary groups where rural public schools become hospitals and classrooms become operating rooms.
1980
Invited by state governments we started working in local hospitals, doing specialty surgery with limited resources, transporting our own medical equipment.
1990
In the late 90's, the logistics and care for the medical equipment were becoming very complicated. We began contemplating the possibility of our own surgical center.
2009
The San Lucas Medical Center is inaugurated. – Initially an Ambulatory Surgery Center. -It immediately becomes the basis of our operation. -3 basic employees and countless volunteers. -Four surgical campaigns began.
2011
The doors are open from Monday to Friday all year round. – 10 surgical campaigns are carried out. – Staff triples but we continue to rely heavily on volunteers. – Modest patient data collection tasks.
2013
Variety of services, 23 surgical campaigns per year – Monthly ophthalmology projects.
2015
We went from being an outpatient surgery center to a General Hospital.
2019
Hiring a staff of full time physicians, surgeons and anesthesiologists.
2022
The first phase of Ceiba Lodge was completed, a self sustaining ministry created for use in retreats, church camps, as well as for use by our interns and volunteers while serving in the San Lucas Medical Foundation programs. We are honored to participate for the award of Architecture Biennale of Nuevo Leon.
